Online Payments Security
For online payments, use only the CVV code and only on the websites of payment institutions or the seller’s official site—not via email or social media.
We recommend using payment cards exclusively on well-known and reputable websites. If the site is unfamiliar, try to check the reputation of the site or merchant to ensure it is reliable for shopping.
The website address where you enter your card details, visible in the browser’s address bar, should begin with “https” (never just “http” without the “s”).
Using the HTTPS protocol, based on certificate exchange, ensures secure and safe transmission of the data you enter in your browser.
Also, look for a padlock symbol before the address or at the bottom of the page you are accessing. If it is red or crossed out, it means the connection is not secure and there is a problem. In that case, do not enter confidential information such as username, password, or payment card details.
